Well I hooked up with golfie and porkchop today for some casting practice on the vedder.We found some other members out on the flow like fishfinder,silvertrout, and timdog. I have never seen so many flyguys around. we fished mid and lower :-X me and merc had a brief double headder but I did not see mine, it just turned and ran .Merc just decided to bust his off because he did not wanna touch his. ;D

We decided to fish back through some of the same water we had fished earlier (after losing 2 fish there why not?)

Three casts in and "pluck-pluck-pull" the tell tale sighn of a steelhead take, after a very good battle I landed a 13lb 3 oz hatch doe, thanks paul for the help landing that slippery bugger. :thumbup:

All in all good friends good cigars and good weather.

fished some beautiful water today......ran in to scruffy-----nice meeting you, hope you had better luck than we did

did manage to release this bright 4 1/2 lb dollie
water conditions mid to upper were as good as it gets

The rod is a 1389 VT2 sage......13'-9" 8 wt, 7/9 loop classic. CND GPS speyline, type 8 sink tip.

The fly is something I call the MOP or insulation fly, just light orange, rabbit tied on an intruder shank.

Great fish Jim, that is awesome that you found another willing fish in that water. Goes to show there is more to this game than just casting and stepping downstream all day, thinking out your strategy is very important.

I was out on the river today with Fish Finder, fishin' the spey...I lost a fish half way through the day, nearly had my first on the spey... :wallbash:

We met Fishfreak, (formerly of BCFR), out there fishing the spey as well...He caught this beauty right in front of us...If you see this Fishfreak, great fishin' with ya today...It was indeed a pleasure!

This nice doe was caught on the Fish Finder original...the "Tequila Sunrise"...you tie some beauty flies bud...

Also met Salmonator out there as he watched Fishfreak land his beauty, great to meet you salmonator... :thumbup:

Time to fish boys and girls, if you've been wondering whether to go or not, now is the time, lots of fish coming in...I'll be hitting it again for the fishout for sure...

Good to see guys...!!! Hit the flow today as well with less than steller resaults. The presure
was typical for a holiday week end so after some quick sniffs of the more popular haunts I decided
to search the back country.

Visability was anywhere from 4-5 feet above the claybanks and a respectable 1-3 feet below,
depending on location. Found some very fishy looking water by the old doctor's pool but
no takers. The flow had split leaving this section slower and a little less coloured.

The lower being in fine shape with an average of 1-1 1/2 foot visability leaving a little to the imagination
of our intended target.

Great fish guys, good to see so many spey caught fish yesterday. Nice to meet you guys, had no idea ya were all feather chuckers. Good luck & tight loops...they're in!!
