Vedder July 9

Decided to take a few days off of work and spend a bit of time fishing. Decided against going to the interior due to time constraints so I dusted off the centerpin and it was off to the vedder. I arrived at 11am to find the river all to myself. I place a large chunk of roe on the size 1 hook and 3 casts later the goes float down. I set the hook and it dives down hard. After about a minute of tug of war, the line goes limp and I retrieve to find it has snapped me off at my 10lbs leader  I guess I gave it too much tension. After it busted me off it showed itself to be a fresh spring in the neighborhood of 15lbs. I quickly setup again for a second chance at that guy but nada. Explored some more areas but no signs of springs at all but lots of sockeyes showing themselves tho.

All in all a good day and will try again tomorrow.

Here is an idea of water clarity today.

I think we'll just leave this one up for now as it's kinda funny. Take a note of this one all you spot guessers... ;)

Absolutely impossible to do
Got two last night, one 8.5 puonds, and the 2nd just shy of 6......both when the sun got off the water, about 15 minutes apart. Hopefully Hook posts up the pics so I can continue bragging.....

- Gotta love it when that guy gets skunked when we go out (for a change)
Nice goin' wookie........That's good news. Just have a few questions..... ;) ;)

Where EXACTLY were you fishing?
Fly or gear?
Exactly what type of gear/fly? ;D
What was the water clarity?
What strength leader?
Did you (heaven forbid) bonk your fish?...... ;D
Which rock? How far from shore? How much weight? What was the length of leader and drop from the float?
What hour of the day?
See any others caught?
Were there kyackers, tubers or 'tooners in the river?
Need a BBQ recipe? ;D

There, that should keep you busy for awhile........ ;)...just kiddin'.......Ortho 8)

Guess that means we won't be hearing from him for a while now. :'( :'(
Well Ortho,

I was meditiating (casting lazily) by the river and used by unique gift of clairvoyance to determine where the fish would be most happy (the inside of a seam in slower water)....after which I transferred my feelings of joy and serenity into the water (i.e. some nice boraxed roe) and the fish swam to me to bask in my radiance.

- which is kinda true as the smaller Jack actually chased my roe in on the retrieve....kinda cool watching a fish chase it within two feet of shore and hammer it
- and I am quite radiant these days

As for where I was actualy fishing, it was the 335th Rock, approximately 14 inches in diameter, due west of the of the the trail leading to Allison Pools. No secrets here.....
Good one, man.. ;D.....I love it!!...... ;D..C ya out there...........oh, by the way was that fresh roe, roe sac, boraxed, frozen or chum, pink, spring, steelhead roe or another roe imitation? .... ;) Or are you just fibbin'?.....LOL............. ;D......Ortho 8)
I will get the camera out later and post the pics  Ortho he was using some old ass roe he had from last year. chunks  guess its still good though and guess i will have to pick some up for the weekend  OR i should just swing flies
