yeah, a little high, but definitely fishable...I think it's time to make one last trip to the vedder before other rivers get my full attention...did you fish today Rick?
The river is fishing well with some nice large fish being caught. I hit steelies the last 3 days and tangled with some nice dollies as well including a very chrome specimen that went at least 6 lb. Today I was pleased to see swarms of fry, which would explain the dollys hanging out, unfortunately some insane large mosquitos were swarming too, bring the bug spray, if you go.
As the day ended the river was really clearing, I'd say fishable top to bottom for the weekend, high but nice.
Nice shots Rick, I was wondering what was happening up there, it is cleaning up by the crossing so figured itshould be in decent shape in the uppers. Wonder how many guys are going to fly out there this weekend suffering from cabin fever with expired license's,
Cheers,

Hey Bergler. It's hard to tell by the pictures but it looks like there is around 2-2.5 feet of vis on the pics? If the steelies can see my steelhead roe and bugs I expect a 20-25 pound hatch doe to take the derby on the last day LOL ;D 8)
Havn't been out that way in a couple weeks. What is the weight of the fish leading the derby?
I'm definately going to make an appearence out there within the next couple of days to capitalize on the late season bite. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve with all the fry starting to show up in the river. Some techniqes that worked well in Ontario that I havn't tried here yet, but I'm 99.9% sure they will be productive here. All other Ontario techniques have proven effective out here. I'll let you guys know if it works out.
Did more clay flop in today, when I was driving across the bailey tonight that water looked like concrete wash, yet at the Vedder bridge this am it looked half decent.
Cheers,
Crazy D
Yeah Birdman I realize that, born and raised in yarrow. What I was commenting on was the fact the river looked decent by the X ing bridge this am when i was heading in to town and tonight the water at the canal coming home had a dirty grey color to it. Thats why I asked if more clay from the banks washed in.
Cheers,
Crazy D
Ya Crazy, major SLUMPORAMA, river was looking sweet thursday night and then Friday morning, double-double time, very frustrating for sure. Been like this all season, looking good one minute than out she goes, at least shes dropping, to try and be positive.
Just got back from a river walk with the kids. Limited vis. on the lower end. :-\ :wallbash:. I think this'll be the story for the rest of the season, with the warmer weather coming up. As stated above..looks great one day, and a double double the next.
River is in good shape above Tamahi. Nates and myself had 5 fish to the beach today. :beerchug: Biggest 15 lb wild buck, 1 hatchery doe 12lbs (released) and 3 other wild does. 1 long line release too . All in all lovely day out and Sunday should even better!!
