Got out after work for a few hrs tonight. Drove up to the cement slab but didn't fish. Water was gin clear and one guy fishin the top of the run was hooking quite a few springs but no coho! We fished a few runs above the slide but no luck. Watch for bears we had a close incounter with a black bear to close for comfort! The slide is making the lower river pretty grey! CK

There is a bear hanging around the hatchery lately. He has been eating the fish out of the spawning channel. :naughty: Watch for them, apprentally they are not very shy of people :wallbash:

As for the fishing time. I don't go out before 6 pm anymore, not worth it in my opinion. The lower and mid river are very fishable, in fact, the water clarity is perfect as the fish dont get spooked now

I see.... I wouldn't shoot it anyways, first of all it is probably old and thats why it is picking on easy prey and they second fact that the thing is eating rotting salmon :-X It won't taste very good and has to be prepared professionally so you dont poisen yourself with tricinosus. :wallbash:

i dont have to even eat the meat... ill skin it, and take the hindquarters and thats it. im not going to shoot a small or old skinny bear...i have certain standards...there not very high but there there. plus that will be one less bear you fine anglers have to worry about...

the bear i have seen across from the slab for the last 2 months has a limp. which is the same one that hook ran into. which is also the same one that snuck up on 3 guys a few days later. i think its the left front paw it looked to be hurt pretty bad. but i agree it would make a good rug. its probably 2-3 years old at most
