Finally got out today, hit up the mid to lower river, river had about 3.5 ft of visibility. hooked into 4, landed one, first time fishing springs on the pin. Lots of fun, hooked into 2 fish pushing 30lbs, the fight is so much better on a centerpin, way more exciting.

Darker buck that i released

ya it was awsome, other than when we went down to the campground i saw one other guy on the river, he was a retired local guy, really nice person. From 6:45-3:00 only him, good days fishing. I hooked 2 of the 4 on wool in the cherise pink colour, one other one on red wool and roe, and the buck slammed a #3 gold french blade dead drifted through a pocket/slot. Here are the rest of the photos. I did try the jigs and they didn't get a touch, but they look deadly. The setup i'm using had plenty of power today, its the 10ft trophy centerpin/light mooching rod. That rod bends in half and all the way down to the butt of the handle, i had it doubled over on all the fish, very surprised at what i can do. It takes up alot of shock, but still has the power to bring fish in. Using 15lb main, and 8lb mono leaders for most of the day, other than the blade where i put on 12lb

A nice BIG run that held fish. All the springs were tight against the bank, right next to the log laying in the water. Lucky for me, i only lost one float on a bad cast

And a little video of some of the slower coho water.

Glad you had a nice day YG! thanks for the update pics and video! Did you meet the french guy? He is so nice. I fished with him a couple of times. After being the only ones in that spot for several times in the middle of december we became friends

I can't wait to try the centerpin that a friend gave to me for a couple of days. I was supposed to go out this week but got a bad cold :wallbash: :wallbash:

Cheers

I dont know if he was french, but he didn't have an accent at all, really nice old man. All we saw was a doe and a buck, but walking out we did find 2 piles of bear $**T. So they're around. Its an ok fish for colour, but the 2 BIG does that i lost were chrome! :'( The centerpin is by far the way to go. Cant believe how much fun it is, and i actually think that i might be getting better drifts, mabey
