Hi all,
The most far place I have been fishing so far is the middle part of the river, where the cabins are located on Chilliwack Lake Road .
I would like to explore the upper part tomorrow, and I would appreciate your help in figuring out something. My first concern is to locate Slesse Creek, where is it?
The other questions I have are more related to where to park and eventually where to start exploring walking.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

slesse creek is about 10 Km past the steel bridge on the tamihi river campground. . It is just before the hatchery. You can`t miss it as that is the upper limits of the fishing boundaries and there will be tons of people there snagging fish at the creek mouth.

we were camping there once. I could not believe when crazy fisherman with very bright flash light woke me up at 3:00 am ... he was sitting there at the top of limit hole for an hour or so waiting for first light flashing with his flash light everywhere on the river. It was really strong flash light, big one I guess...

Thanks guys,

I did explore that area today. And, my god!, I was not expecting so many people (even at Fred's they were discouraging that area).
After looking around there, I went back to my nice and quite spot at the middle river. I had a nice day, although I didn't have one single bite!

that's why that place called s***t hole. It's line on the line, shoulder to shoulder, I think under water it looks like a net of lines, and obviously one out of 30 people always gets the fish, so it looks like it's a good fishing place, but believe me it is not. One should have fun on the river and not fishing under pressure like you have at that hole.

as much as it might be the SH** hole (limit hole) if you happen to come across it ALONE with noone else fishing there it is actually a nice fishing spot and there seems to always be at least one fish holding in there. but the majority of the time its packed with yahoos BBing or long lining fish :naughty:

Well I had to go up and see the show at the (limit hole) today. Sat on a rock and reflected back to the good old days when flossing was not a big issue as it is now. I have come to a conclusion that the definition for (limit hole) is... A certain angler that has a very (limited brain capacity) in SPORT FISHING. Well at least the flossers are all pinned up together like cattle. High five I snaged that spring in the A$$. It just barried my float. ::) wow

Amen!..Went for a look on Saturday and had a tough time restraining myself...What a joke!...The worst excuse for "fishing"? I have ever seen.
The worst part was watching a guy throw a large, naked, weighted jig hook on a 5 ft. leader under a small betty fire away and hook 2 fish and landed one in less than 15 minutes..A really ugly fish......dark and obviously spawned out........no worries.........BONK!
Then the Fisheries officers showed up and checked everyone's license' & their terminal gear, checked coolers and inside campers. I told both of them about the blatent snagging, and they said...."we just do the best we can to enforce the laws as written"/ "That's all we can do"!
Fair enough, but why not close the river at the limit hole and the cement slab?.."We don't have the authority to do that", was the reply. .ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and the worst part of it all....I observed members of this site taking part in this snagfest!!...........You know who you are. Give your head a shake !............THis is not fishing...........You should be ashamed! .......My regular work days are numbered, and in my retirement I will work tirelessly to have the "rules/closures" work in the favor of the fish who battle hard to get all the way home only to be faced with the ugliest snagfest (long line, flossing) party ever seen............SICK!!!...........Ortho

Theres a honest post, sad, but honest.

We all can do our part to change these scenes, and speaking your mind on fishing forums is never a bad thing and perhaps just a fraction of those who fish in those ways will be encouraged to evolve in to sportfishers, its a wish any ways.

I agree with you Ortho - its really sad these fish made it ALL THE WAY THERE - Just about to the gate - Only to be greeted with a snagfest of unethical fisherman! How those fish make it all the way there amazes me - in the first place! To have made it through the nets the seals and the fishermen - Jezzz - let them be - they've made it sooo far!

I agree with most of what you have written fishnfvr, however the boundary was placed there since Slesse Creek is the upstream limit of most hatchery fishes migration. There is nothing wrong with harvesting hatchery fish at the limit hole.

That said as you have stated very adeptly it is wrong to harvest fish that are unfit for consumption or by using questionable methods
