HEY, just so you guys are aware, there's some drifter who looks like he's been camping in the forest (common), but the guy has a COMPOUND BOW with him....he was talking about hunting rabbit and coyote....wouldn't shut up actually......he approached me while I was fishing this evening and started taking about all kinds of fishing stuff..then it went to hunting..then it went to him shooting Bears near Buntzen..then he started talking out the BOW and making sure it was ok...that when I left..wasn't worried cause others were walking around, but if anyone is out there late....use caution.

I don't think he's there to hurt anyone, but as I started to leave, he got all weird and asked to cast my rod, and seemed like he was trying to delay my exit.

Shorter dude, blond hair/beard, big back pack, and of course, a BOW

Take it easy out there

I called the 5-0 last night when I got home ..... more for the fact that the dude was a little off towards the end of our conversation than anything ...plus I don't want to see someone's poodle get skewered......

unless they catch him killing coyotes or rabbits i dont think they can do much really.. rabbits are open if you have a hunting licence too... its not illegal to carry a bow, so i dont think they can do much but ask him to leave, they cant rightfully take it away unless he breaks the law with it.

Hey, Just because that dude coaxed you into his van to play with his "puppy" last time you went fishing doesn't mean it'll happen to anyone else .... Look, I know its hard for you to talk about, but I guess laughter is the best medicine right now ... I'm sure you'll forget all about it in time. ... just keep using lots of listerine ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, back to the fishing, I went back yesterday, no bow hunter, but I did see a ton of trout rising, and the sparrows were going nuts, but no takes

- tried all kinds of chronies, various nymphs, even wolley buggers
- it was raining and I didn't see any hatches, but man, they were goin nuts!

most rises were only surface boils, any suggestions to what they were after?

This coming from someone who's making out with a fish in his avatar, while his fishing 'partner' turns the other way :naughty:

Back to reality; when it comes to concealed weapons, anything that can be used as a weapon (knife, letter opener, hacksaw, etc), if hidden during the performance of a crime, can be called a concealed weapon. If I carry my Grandfathers pocket knife while robbing a convenience store (regardless if the knife was USED in the crime), I'm going to be charged with carrying a concealed weapon. If I carry the same knife while I'm out fishing (and realistically, who doesn't carry a knife with them while fishing), then it's ok. It's one of those semantic things that's up for interpretation by the arresting officer.

As for 'Mr. Deliverance', I'm sure the authorities would make him empty his backpack, grill him on the 5W's and, if necessary, ask him to vacate.

If they were just boiling, they're feeding just below the surface. In that case, I would have fished chronies on a floating line with a short leader (6-8 ft) or gone dry (Adams P, OW, blue dun...in that order) on a 12 ft leader to see if they'd take on those. What depth were you fishing your chronies, nymphs, etc?
