I would take the Sage 3113 but it only comes in brown. I want a Mat black rod with all silver colurs as I have a IS Islander (chrome) therfore a brown rod will look a little off. Everyone knows that if you look good, you then feel good, and in the end you will fish good!! can you help me out with what Rod to get?

Go with the frontier, but make sure you sign the warranty papers and send them in. My buddy has broke 2 in the same spot. About 2.5 ft from the tip.

Good feeling rods though and they are matt black. :thumbup:

I have the 3113 brown blank. What colors the reel seat? I'm running my chrome Islander on the chrome reel seat and it looks dope. Lamiglasses are nice too, I recently purchased one and love it.

i have a really dark green TFO 3113 with a green pin reel looks great especially with the bright orange backing ;D;D

I have a Beulah 8/9 weight spey rod blank that I'm having built into a pin rod. It's 13'7" long and a buddy of mine had his built already. I'm just waiting to try it out before I build mine to see what tweaking it needs. It's a flat, dark blue color and should look good with my black pin rod. I also have a St Croix 7/8 13' spey rod that I had built into a pin rod too. It's brown however but does match the brown pin reel.

I own two Sage 3113's.My first one is for my chrome islander.I loved it so much I got one for baitcasting and never looked back. They are spectacular. The same goes for the 2106! ;D

Meh, i'll stick with my CANADIAN made fenwick HMX. 10'6. 8-15lb. medium. and the old dependable abu 6500. Classic steelhead combo what can go wrong.

I have a 13 ft st.croix in the 7/8 spey blank and just recently had the guys at reaction build me a loop blue line 13 ft 7/8 into a pin rod, it balance the Macdonald perfectly ;D

YG i have 3 baitcaster setups 2Berkeley Specialist 10.6 rods one with a Shimano Catala(girlfriends rod now) the other with a Abu 6500C3 and my third(my BBing rod) and the other on a Shimano rod forget the name of it with an Abo6500C3 also which is her BBing rod

im setup with more fly rods than i am gear as those are all my gear rods including my pin of course OH and her 61/2' spinning rod LOL

For Centre Pins the best combo I have experienced is the Sage 3106 Light Blank with a Milner talisman. Light enough to enjoy anything 5 lbs. and up and strong enough to take on a 20lber. with a little trepidation :thumbup:

I also enjoy the 3113, and it loads up nice for a CP, but definitely not for a level wind set up - too slow.

BTW 3113 is now built in the green blank. I just finished building one for a friend with dark green thread and gold trim - really nice looking combination.

Now if only I could get the time to build that Sage V2 blank I have in the basement.

I fish a custom built 3113 lb, the brown blank, with a silex...The extra length is useful, and the action of the rod is great!

I have a 10.5' Lami in matt graphite rated 10#-20(yet amazingly light) with black windings and pewter trim on the reel seat. I first fished it with a hammered silver Avon. It looks just as nice with the gun metal- grey Raven classic I picked up last season.It has a lively top section,but more backbone in the bottom than the Convergance(same 10-20# rating) I started out with.

Bird, check the buy and sell, mine up for grabs..

As for rods, I have an gloomis black blank gl3 so not sure why you say they aren't made...I used a lamiglass Dave vedder last year but it was a little on the light side, this year for gear it's my custom 13' 7" beaulah built by Terry..for the pin.. But, hopefully mostly I'll be using my Scott 1408 with my kicking new/old Tibor and airflow multi tip mid. or skagit...
