I'm looking at Area 16 (madiera park right?) for rock cod/lings and the DFO site has been saying since April that it's expected the season will open on June 1st but that there will be future announcements confirming this...so it's a few days away from June 1st and still no update! Do they normally post openings just a couple days before it actually opens!?

On stocks like this I am not sure why they do the same as other fisheries but yeah the usual mandate with salmon openings and closures its usually last minute...... keep checking the notices or call the office. They will usually know when they are expecting an annoucement
