I have to replace the line on my Calcutta B400. The reel is used on a Shimano Convergence 10.6 medium heavy, slow action rod. This rig is used for river fishing of springs, steelhead and some coho although I prefer fly fishing in the latter case. As I am a neophyte regarding quality monofilament lines I am looking for some advice as to what to buy. I think I should be buying a 15 to 20 lb test with a bit of stiffness to it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I would go with 15lb Maxima Ultra Green

I personally thing Maxima is way overrated here in Canada (some tackle shop people I talked too share the same view). After years of using it, I finally decided that a line that's more expensive, thicker and stiffer than almost anything else, can't be my choice anymore.
Trilene, Sylex, Mustad, Daiwa are better options in my opinion; especially if you want to cast 90-100 yards/meters deep as I often do in the Fraser.
