I don't know about that...that cat looks like a piece of rotten leather. He probably didn't have to fight it, just took him 25 mins to drag it across the bottom of the pond haha.

Either way, that's a monster fish...I wonder if they'll have to make a designation on the world record "largest channel cat caught on a 2 foot pink barbie doll set up" good luck breaking the record in that category...ha

Oh and check the second one below also
funny that I just read this. I am leaving in few hours to Osoyoos. I am taking my 5wt fly rod and a nice reel that I just bought. My friend is not bringing any gear, he said he will rather spent time with his daughter introducing her to his passion for fishing. And guess what her daughter is bringing!! ... I'll let you know how things go :)

I doubt it was dead. Have you ever left a salmon or trout lying on the rocks for more than 5 mins. Those white marks are caused from this. If it was dead for more than an hour or so befire the ic was taken (which is probable) I can also understand the colour. Pretty amazing that he landed it on that rod though ::) Kinda like landing a 40 pound spring on a trout rod
