I am still trying to go to whonnock lake for crappies , has anyone been there lately ?? Is this a good time to catch crappies ?

I would make the trip. I have fished Whonnock every month of the year and consistently found August the best month for crappies on a dry fly. The lake has a good hatch of trico mayflies and the crappies pig-out on them each August. Best day are humid evening after a rain.
