I was very disapointed on the Vedder last weekend. On Saturday and Sunday I had seen at least 5 bus loads (many more single vehicles) full of river drifters or kayak rafters. One store selling cheap infalteable rafts for $9.99 was sold out by noon. I had to wait at one spot mid river for 45 mins just to make one cast. Can't beat them join them, I guess they will have to watch out for me too. :peace:

Yes I do pay to use the river (if your talking about fishing liscences),
No I havnt payed for search and rescue yet (knock on wood),
Yes I did the first river clean-up I ever found out about about, and no I dont litter ;)

Tubing is a great way to find some nice holes too by the way, found a couple nice areas on the way down where we saw some Springers jumping  I also had the chance to talk with a few people as we went by (some were reporting success). Most people are ok with us as long as we don't splash around and get through as fast as possible. We did however have one guy spaz on us today for going through where he "was going to cast" ::)

You gotta be kidding JBJ, so because someone doesnt help clean up the river, or because they dont pay to use crown land, which is supposed to be free to everyone, they have less rights then a fisherman? Thats a pretty elitist attitude you have there JBJ ::)

I don't know I just think that comment is pretty ignorant :naughty: I fish just like you, and yes sometimes they are a pain but we can't do anything about it, because everyone has the right to the River. I like tubin every now and then, its a great way to cool off. I try to be respectful but when Jerks try to tell us to get off the river it kinda pisses me off cause I dont do that to other people. I wish people would just learn to keep their mouths shut and keep it to themselves sometimes :wallbash: Don't complain, maybe try it for yourself, you might enjoy it

I almost got hit by a jet boat last year in the Vedder tubing actually.... Yes I know they would be pissed, I know I was absolutley pissed, especially when they came back around and tried to throw a wave over us. I'm just saying everyone has a right to be on the river, no matter how pissed off we get that someone is doing something we can't stop it unless it's illegal.

To compare a jet boat going up and down the river to some tubers is not the same thing. To the people that leave trash behind well I wish there was some way to get rid of them but to the ones that don't they should have the same right to the river that any fisherman has.

Come on guys...I remember when I was a kid floating down rivers it was a blast. The rivers are their for everyone
to use and enjoy :beerchug: Common sense and courtesy goes a long ways. No need for pissy attitudes.

I have to side with JBJ on this one. We generate huge dollars that hopefully support our rivers. When other users begin to pay, then they'll have the same rights to use the river. Reminds me of last summer on the Cap, I'm fishing a nice pool, some guy comes down and starts throwing sticks for his dog to swim to. ::)

that happened to me at duncan bar tossing spoons for pinks that area is a huge stretch of water, and this guy was throwing sticks to his dog right beside me, he could have at least moved down river where no one else was fishing.
