Re: Wild Sockeye Salmon, $1.09 per 100g

I was offered wild salmon for my sashimi the other day...upon inquiry, I was told it was wild sockeye... :wallbash:

Also saw this related item today...the sockeye market can't be all that good...

The pick Berg posted tells ya all you need to know about where the fish really get mopped up.

Jimmy P and his guys are filling boats.
Heard he got his hands deep in the farms too.

Wonder how much he's putting into conservation considering his committment to eradicating WILD salmon.

I,d rather buy sox from the FN personally.

Yes but think about it. Fifty bucks a fish is probably a bargain when you consider all your expenses involved in catching them.
Seriously, I know you cant think like that but sportfishing does contribute lots of dollars to the economy.

rod's got it right, pattison controls a huge whack of the industry
start attending Church with jimmy, maybe you'll see the benefits, but i doubt it.
5 bucks a # for a cleaned fish IS cheap. when i was in the restaurant biz, the wholesale price was regularily $5-7 per #. must be nice to rape and pillage and sell the product as a lost leader.

I'm sure he just upgraded to the Alaskan Twist. This is a mono net. Mono means more fish=more money

The original ad however does read: "BC Wild"...So it ain't Alaska, but wouldn't it be a friendly kick in the teeth if some of these sockeye were once a part of the stuart run....?

Not likely man!
You know this time of year the siene boats are cleaning them up on the west coast of QCI.
