Hi Vicsteve. If you are looking for crab around Vic., come buy some off me ;D. I am running a crab boat this winter, and it has been pretty SLOW. Depending on where your boat is, I can probably point you in the right direction though. We are getting enough to feed a sporty, just not enough to feed a crabber.

How about around Victoria/Colwood? Wow, pretty stormy here right now. Nothing like winter on the coast!

[/quote] try around around the breakwater where the cruise ships dock big crabs in those parts good shrimp there too. my biggest dungeness crab came from there AND IF YOUR REALLY UP FOR A CHALENGE try fishing off the breakwater in the spring and summer throw some green and pearl buzz bombs size2 1/2 with a 8 ft spinning rod and 10 lb testline nice springs to be caught :2cents:

Shrimp at the breakwater? Cool! Are they ****-stripe shrimp? Are you scooping them off the surface at night, or trapping them? This is a fishery I am in to.
we would use home made shrimp traps and fish for them at night nice sized shrimp to be had there as well as crabs
