Wondering what is more productive this time of the year bait or spoons/hootchies?

In the winter time coyote spoons are just as good as bait. Saves you money as well. Troll them around English Bay right now and you should do quite well. Good Luck

Thanx for the input tiller. I was wondering if you had a specific spoon to run as I am pretty sure you guide and Ive heard Bon chovy charters produces alot of fish

In the winter and early spring we have most of our success on green/glow 4.0 Coyotes and the glow Army Truck 4.0. I did well in the harbour yesterday on the army truck coyote. Good luck

Dont be afraid to try the Hootchies either.
Allways have done well on the Glow bone white and the white and green.
Just remember them winter fish like hugging the bottom. :thumbup:

Went out on Sunday. Fished around Hutt Island and caught two springs, one was about 22 inches and gently released, the other was a 9 lber that was bonked. The smaller fish was caught on a green hootchie at 120 feet, the 9 on a coyote at 180 feet.

Has anyone else been out? Weather pdermitting we will be out on Saturday.
