Took my 5 year old son out for our first outing of the year to Woods Lake near Kelowna. Trolled a couple flies with no luck but got a nice little silver bullet of a Kokanee (about a pound and a half) on the typical gear set-up of willow leaf, wedding band and maggot. Oh, and with a five year old at the reel of course the rubber snubber as well! Nice sunny Monday afternoon on the lake- better than this rain! In two hours we lost a couple more as well but he had fun.

Nice job Sparky! Did you eat the kokanee? They are opening up Lake Okanagan for a kokanee fishery again this year and some 3-4 pound fish were taken. Of course, not by me though. :(

Sounds like a great day. I remember driving by and seeing quite a number of boats out there. I guess a few other people got some enjoyment too.
