I just picked up a rio versatip system for my #6. Next purchase will probably be a different line for my 11' #8 spey rod... the rio was a big let down on that one.

Unfortunately my money situation doesn't allow me to buy anything for this year, but I spent a crap-load of money on stuff last year:

Pontoon boat
2nd reel for sinking line
sinking line for the aforementioned reel
waders

That doesn't include all my tying stuff

A new water system and a new sewage system for the cabin OR a JET BOAT

I did not think there was any decision to be made but apparently I am wrong

My wife's idea of new equipment does not float nor do you want to fish in them.

I guess next year will come soon enough

Trouble is Rick - after 33 years - she gets it all

so when I say I have lots of fishing equipment and outdoors gear - what I really mean is - I get to use the gear 'WE" have bought.

In all fairness - she never opens the credit card bills - which allows me a certain amount of unsupervised freedom - I am really not that badly off and January 2nd is only 248 days plus 17 hours ( allowing for the dealer to open ) away
